Games that require pets to use their sense of smell are a great exercise that should be used periodically to keep cats from becoming lazy and curious.
You don’t have to go to the store to get a “gadget” like this – you can easily make it yourself.
To do this you will need:
- thick cardboard;
- a piece of fabric that will be enough to cover the cardboard;
- several skeins of thick yarn or wool;
- scissors, needle and thread.
So, first, cover the cardboard with fabric, after which you can start making pom-poms - just like in technology class at school.
You will need quite a lot of yarn pom-poms – enough to fill the entire surface of the cardboard.
Now sew the pom-poms firmly to the rug – that’s it, the base is ready.
All that's left for you to do is hide pieces of your pet's favorite treat between the pom-poms.
Offer your cat a new game and watch how enthusiastically your pet will search for treats.
