Why do cats like to sit in elevated places: there are several reasons for this

It is believed that the passion for climbing to high places and observing what is happening from there was passed on to domestic cats from their wild ancestors from the feline family.

The first reason that would explain such behavior is that at a height it is easy for a cat to notice an enemy approaching.

In addition to the fact that it is convenient to observe from an elevated position, the cat also does not have to worry about the enemy being able to get to it, so our pets thus avoid unwanted contacts.

The second factor, as strange as it may sound, is status. The animal believes that the higher it has managed to climb, the more important it is.

Sometimes pets try to climb higher just because they are cold, and, as we know, warm air accumulates at the top.

In addition, the cat can try to escape unpleasant odors, which are much less noticeable on a cabinet or shelf, even for a sensitive cat's nose.

If your pet is sick, it is likely that he wants to be alone in a place where there are no irritants in order to focus on recovery.

Finally, the explanation might be that cats climb high because they play or hunt.
