Even avid dog and cat lovers sometimes don’t know what to do to make their pets friends.
In fact, different species can get along just fine next to each other if you know one little secret.
It consists of preparing animals properly before introducing them. Before bringing a new resident home, you need to try to get the "old-timer" to know and get used to its smell.
How to do it? For example, swap your cat's pillow, dog's pillow, and other sleeping accessories for a week.
It would be a good idea to make sure that the new smell evokes a pleasant association in the animal – for example, with food.
When the pets get used to each other's smells, they can be introduced to the territory of the new "neighbor". It is worth keeping Murkas and Tuziks separately from each other.
At the first meeting, you will have to put a leash on the dog and place the cat in a carrier. Arrange for them to meet several times in different rooms.
After this, you can let the cat out "to freedom", but the dog should still be on a leash. You are allowed to take it off only when you are sure that the animals have got along with each other.
