Probably every cat owner has at least once encountered a situation when their pet persistently asks to open the door for him.
But as soon as the door swings open, the cat doesn’t even intend to cross the threshold.
There is still no reliable explanation for this feature of the whiskered-striped ones, but there are several theories that could explain such behavior of the pet.
First, cats' aversion to closed doors can be seen in terms of their desire for control.
Since cats are territorial animals, they rightly believe that the entire apartment is their sole property, so they periodically walk around their “territory”.
At the same time, they do not consider it necessary to enter the room - it is enough to cast an attentive glance around it.
Secondly, a closed door may hide danger behind it. Despite the fact that pets have excellent hearing, they also need to use their sight and sense of smell to check out the situation.
Finally, thirdly, do not forget that cats are social creatures and it is extremely unpleasant for them to be left alone when the whole family spends time locked in a room.
