Often, winter brings ice, which can only be dealt with if you prepare your footwear.
Fortunately, there is not one, but several methods that are simple and accessible – all of them help improve the sole’s grip on icy surfaces.
Here's what you can use to make your winter walks much safer.
Hairspray
If you have a bottle of strong hold hairspray on your bathroom shelf, you can consider yourself a winner in this life – at least in the fight against ice, you will come out on top.
To effectively combat the product, it should be applied to clean and dry soles of shoes.
By applying varnish you will get a rough texture, which means that the adhesion to the surface will be improved.
Important: Make sure the polish is dry before heading outside.
Patch
Although temporary, a completely effective solution is strips of adhesive tape glued to the sole.
Spray glue and sand
Apply a thin layer of spray adhesive or polyurethane adhesive to the sole and sprinkle fine sand on top (sugar can be substituted).
As a result, the sole will be covered with unique micro-spikes, providing high-quality traction on the surface.
Overhead spikes
Unfortunately, you are unlikely to be able to build such a structure with your own hands, but no problem – you can buy it at a sports store.
