Patience is a useful quality akin to endurance, the will to win, the ability to wait and accept the world as it is.
If you don't want to get irritated over any, even minor, reason, you should work on developing it.
The following methods will help you with this.
Patient little stone
Place a smooth and pleasant to the touch stone, button or ring in your pocket. These items will become your secret version of a rosary.
As soon as you feel yourself starting to boil, put your hand in your pocket and touch the stone.
Count to 10
Before you blurt out everything you think in anger, count to ten in your head. Do this slowly, taking a deep breath on each count. If you still haven't calmed down after this, continue counting.
Rating on a 10-point scale
Feeling irritated? Rate it on a 10-point scale, where 1 to 5 means you're pretty much okay, 6 to 8 means you're angry but can control yourself, and 9 and 10 are signs that a storm is about to break out.
You don't have to do anything else: while you were thinking about the level of your anger, you probably calmed down a little.
A view from the outside
Imagine that the situation is not happening to you, and you are just an outside observer. Carefully evaluate the participants in the dispute, paying attention to funny and absurd details.
Meditation for the feet
To combat the frustration of long waits, stand up straight with your feet shoulder-width apart. Then slowly shift your weight to your left leg without lifting your foot. Count to five and shift your weight to your right leg. This should help.
