Surely each of us has heard at least once the sign that a washing cat foretells the arrival of guests.
This is usually said about an animal that washes itself on a windowsill or near a door.
There is even an opinion that if a cat washes its head and right ear, then guests will come with good intentions, and if the left ear, then perhaps your ill-wishers will come to your doorstep.
There are other folk beliefs associated with cats and guests.
For example, if the purring cat does not leave the visitor, cuddles up to him and rubs against his legs, it means that your guest is a kind person. If the opposite happens, and the pet hides and does not approach this person, this may indicate his hypocrisy.
If the cat washes itself slowly and reluctantly, most likely, guests will not come for some time.
But if a cat sits on a windowsill and looks out the window, this may mean that guests will soon arrive, and their visit will cause the owner a lot of trouble.
Watch your pet's behavior when guests leave your apartment. If the cat hides under the table, this may indicate that the visitors had evil intentions, and in this way the animal is trying to protect the residents of the house from negativity.
To make a desired guest come again, you can take some fluff from the cat's tail and discreetly place it on the person's shoulder. According to folk signs, this will help attract the guest again.

A cat is a domestic animal, one of the most popular (along with a dog) “companion animals”.
