What kind of deviations modern experts in the field of psychology will not come up with. Science does not stand still and a person can only keep up with it.
So, it became known that, in addition to toxic people and other aggressive individuals, there are individuals with impostor syndrome.
Psychologist Ekaterina Katalina told RIA Novosti what it is and how the signs of this bad syndrome manifest themselves.
Imposter Syndrome
These are people who feel envy and irritation at the success of others, and are also afraid of missing out on an opportunity or not achieving what they want.
The reason for irritation may be a trip of relatives or friends, their major purchase, construction or renovation, and even the beginning of a relationship.
And if in short, the reason for the manifestation of the syndrome can be any success or joyful event in someone’s life.
Why is this bad?
This model of behavior forces a person to dwell on his failures and setbacks.
All previous merits are immediately devalued, but, worst of all, such a person considers all his achievements to be the result of luck or a combination of circumstances, but not the result of hard work.
Often, people with impostor syndrome feel like they are taking up someone else's space, they are unhappy with their appearance, they refuse compliments, and they find it difficult to express themselves.
Problems with self-esteem affect not only one’s profession, but also one’s hobbies, which is why a person begins to consider himself of little interest to others.
