For one reason or another, a car may catch fire.
Fortunately, such cases are rare, but it is still worth remembering the precautions - as they say, just in case.
Car Fire: Action Plan
If while driving you notice the first signs of danger such as smoke, fire, burning smell, etc., you should immediately park on the side of the road and order passengers to leave the car.
Turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition. This will reduce the risk of a major fire and explosion, as the fuel pump, coolant pump, and lubrication pump will stop working and the ignition system will be de-energized.
After this, immediately leave the car, moving away from it at least 30 meters.
Now you can call emergency services if someone hasn't done so before.
But you shouldn’t think about a fire extinguisher, just as you shouldn’t think about opening the hood before the firefighters arrive – at least that’s what all reputable sources say.
