In Minsk, two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, became defendants in a criminal case and are now awaiting trial.
The friends are accused of malicious hooliganism - drowning 6 shared electric scooters in the Svisloch River.
The Minsk-Novosti agency reported details of the incident, citing the prosecutor's office of the Central District of the capital.
Representatives of the supervisory agency noted that the boys were returning from a computer club late at night.
When we were walking along the Svisloch embankment, we noticed 4 sharing scooters. One of our friends suggested throwing them into the river – the initiative was implemented.
A few days later, these same young men drowned two more electric scooters in the river.
The total amount of damage caused to the company that owned the scooters amounted to over 3,600 rubles.
The teenagers were identified after viewing CCTV footage, and a criminal case was opened.
The young men were unable to explain why they decided to destroy the innocent scooters.
According to the deputy prosecutor of the Central District, Andrei Nikolsky, one of the boys is a 10th-grade student at a Minsk school.
His friend is a college student. He, by the way, had problems with the law before.
Both were charged with intentional actions that grossly violate public order and express obvious disrespect for society, accompanied by damage to someone else's property (malicious hooliganism), committed repeatedly by a group of people.
The young men admitted their guilt completely, repented of what they had done and promised not to commit such acts again.
