The latter filed a statement with the Pervomaysky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk.

As the press service of the capital's police reported on its official Telegram channel, the applicants reported that they had received an SMS allegedly from the Belpochta delivery service.

Since the Minsk residents were really expecting a parcel, they believed the SMS and followed the link.

Next, they went through the registration procedure and entered their bank card details to pay for the service of adjusting the installation information.

After this, a total of about 2,000 rubles were written off from their accounts.

Criminal cases have been opened based on these facts, the department noted.

The police remind: information about the arrival of a parcel should be clarified at post offices.

In addition, its status can be checked on the official Belpochta website.

It is strongly recommended not to enter bank card codes and passwords on Internet resources.

For reference

Belpochta is a republican unitary enterprise, a Belarusian state-owned company, and the operator of the Belarusian national postal network.
