Belhydromet conducted a route survey of the state of atmospheric air in Minsk, followed by testing of samples.
The survey was conducted on September 20 and 22 as part of the environmental campaign “Car-Free Day “Belarus for Clean Air!”

What the air quality test in Minsk showed
On September 20, in the area of Gorky Park, at the intersection of Kulman and Yakub Kolas streets and in the area of the Boulder Museum, the concentration of carbon monoxide ranged from 0.09 to 0.17 MAC, and nitrogen dioxide – from 0.33 to 0.61 MAC.
The concentration of formaldehyde in the area of the Boulder Museum was below the detection limit of the method, in the area of Gorky Park and at the intersection of Kulman and Yakub Kolas streets – from 0.5 to 0.57 MAC.
On September 22, a slight decrease in pollution levels was recorded. The concentration of carbon monoxide was from 0.07 to 0.09 MAC, nitrogen dioxide – from 0.24 to 0.4 MAC.
The concentration of formaldehyde in the area of Gorky Park and the Boulder Museum was below the detection limit of the method; at the intersection of Kulman and Yakuba Kolasa streets it was 0.43 MAC.
