Several residents of the Belarusian capital have become victims of Christmas tree scammers.
This was reported on the Telegram channel “Minsk Police”.

The total damage amounted to approximately 1700 BYN.
How Minsk residents became victims of Christmas tree scammers
One of the victims said the following: she noticed an advertisement on a social network about the sale of New Year trees.
Then the Minsk resident contacted the “seller” to purchase artificial trees for the holiday.
The interlocutor asked to transfer 350 Belarusian rubles.
The citizen did this. However, later the "seller" simply stopped responding.
Other victims lost their funds in similar ways.
Now law enforcement officers are conducting an investigation into the incident.
The police have issued a reminder to Belarusians: do not agree to suspicious online offers to purchase goods at very low prices. In this case, transferring money for the purchase may end in a loss of funds.
