According to BELTA , dust storms covered the south of Russia on September 29.
The cause was the confrontation between a cyclone and an anticyclone in a zone about 900 kilometers wide – from the south of the Black Earth Region to the foothills of the Caucasus.
The wind speed reached 16-21 m/s, in some areas on the border of Stavropol Krai, Dagestan and Kalmykia – 23-28 m/s.
Small particles, invisible to the naked eye, were directed, among other things, towards Belarus.
According to Belhydromet, the dust storms did not have a significant impact on the air quality in the country.
No excess of established hygienic standards for solid particles was recorded in Belarus on October 1, forecasters reported.
