A pedestrian on an electric scooter was hit by a car while crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing.

The accident occurred the previous evening on Tolbukhin Street near building No. 15. The pedestrian was sent to the hospital.

An electric scooter rider was hit by a car on Talbukhin Street in Minsk, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee reports on its Telegram channel.

At the moment, it is known that the previous evening at 9:52 p.m., a 36-year-old driver of a JAC vehicle failed to give way to a pedestrian riding an electric scooter.

A 21-year-old pedestrian was crossing the roadway on an electric scooter along Tolbukhin Street, near building No. 15.

While crossing the crossing, the driver hit the electric scooter rider, after which he was taken to a healthcare facility for examination.

The traffic police officers of the Pervomaisky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk worked at the scene of the incident.

Further verification is underway.

Traffic police officers remind drivers of their obligation to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle moving in front, as well as to be extremely careful when approaching a pedestrian crossing.

The speed of the vehicle must allow it to stop and give way to vulnerable road users, the report says.
