A significant event for the Belarusian capital is approaching – City Day. The main celebrations are planned for September 14 (Saturday).
Minsk police officers will be monitoring order during the festivities. In an enhanced mode.
The press service of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee warned residents and guests of the main city of Belarus about this in its official Telegram channel.
During the festive events dedicated to Minsk City Day, the capital's police are switching to enhanced duty, the statement says.
Checkpoint
As already noted, the main events will take place on Saturday, September 14.
In this regard, citizens are being notified in advance that access to the festive grounds will only be possible through specially installed checkpoints.
Separate checkpoints will operate for WWII veterans, disabled people, pregnant women, and parents with children.
These checkpoints will be marked with an orange awning, the police noted.
Who won't be allowed in?
Belarusians were reminded that citizens in a state of alcoholic intoxication will not be allowed into places where mass events are taking place.
Also, those who have prohibited items with them will not be allowed in.
Law enforcement officers drew drivers' attention to the fact that traffic near the locations of festive events will be restricted.
And at 23:00 – for the time of the fireworks launch – the entrance to the Starostinskaya Sloboda square will be closed. Parking will be prohibited along the perimeter of the square.
To respond to the operational situation, the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs will form an interdepartmental city operational and situational headquarters, the police noted.
