A Minsk resident failed to appear at the military registration and enlistment office in response to a summons and received a criminal record

A 21-year-old guy from Minsk who decided not to appear at the military registration and enlistment office in response to a summons received the first conviction in his life for this.

The young man had not previously been subject to criminal liability.

He was convicted of evading military service, the Belta agency reports , citing the Zavodskoy District Prosecutor’s Office of the capital.

From the details it is known that until February 1 of this year the defendant had a deferment from military service, including for health reasons.

The guy was supposed to show up for a medical examination at the Zavodskoy District military registration and enlistment office on May 20, but they never saw him there.

At the same time, the citizen was duly notified of the consequences of evasion.

As a result, a criminal case was opened against the Minsk resident. He admitted his guilt and repented of his actions.

The senior assistant prosecutor of the Zavodskoy district, Yuri Mashketov, who acted as the state prosecutor in the case, reported the following about the identity of the defendant:

The accused has an official job and has not previously been subject to criminal liability.

The court found the guy guilty under Part 1 of Article 435 of the Criminal Code of Belarus and sentenced him to a fine of 4,000 rubles.
