Cybercriminals deceived two residents of Minsk by promising them free photo sessions.

The press service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee reported this on Telegram.

How cyber fraudsters operated

Two residents of the district, deceived by cyber fraudsters, contacted the Pervomayskoye District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk.

The applicants were sent a message on a social network inviting them to a free photo shoot.

To choose the theme of the photo shoot, it was necessary to follow a link that led to a browser. There, the Minsk residents logged into their Telegram accounts, entering their login and password and passing two-factor authentication.

A day later, some people from their contact list began receiving messages asking them to transfer 300 rubles.

The messages were not only text, but also voice and even using video from the account owners.

And the husband of one of the victims received an offer to transfer 200 rubles for the return of the account.

Only one person transferred 300 rubles to cyber fraudsters, the rest contacted the account owners and made sure that they did not need help. An investigation is underway into this incident.
