In Polotsk, Mogilev drug control officers, with the forceful support of OMON fighters, detained two residents of Glubokoe (a city in the Vitebsk region).
These were not ordinary people, and they did not come to one of the oldest Belarusian cities for the sake of excursions.
The people caught were wholesale drug couriers. One was 26 years old, the other was 43 years old.
As the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic reports on its official Telegram channel, the couple worked for the benefit of the drug market.
The citizens bought the goods in Russia, then did the packaging in rented apartments and then made caches in the Vitebsk region.
In their hiding places and at their place of residence, particularly dangerous substances “Alpha-PVP” and mephedrone in quantities of more than 300 grams were found and confiscated.
Law enforcement officers also found out what exactly each of the detainees was doing.
So, the elder corresponded with the curator, and the younger set up the caches. By the way, both of them use drugs themselves, and had previous convictions.
A criminal case has been opened on the fact of illegal drug trafficking for the purpose of sale.
The defendants face up to 15 years in prison, the ministry noted.
