Minibus overturns in Minsk region: 8 people injured

On Monday, December 16, at about nine o'clock in the morning, a serious traffic accident involving a minibus occurred in the Minsk region.

As reported on its official Telegram channel by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, the incident took place in the Volozhin district.

There, on the 27th kilometer of the Pershai-Ivenets-Nesvizh highway, a 66-year-old driver of a minibus got into an accident.

It is known that at that time the minibus was traveling in the direction of the urban settlement of Ivenets.

At some point, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the minibus to fly into a ditch where it overturned.

Unfortunately, eight people were injured. They were taken to hospital with injuries of varying severity.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also reported that the rear axle of the car was equipped with tires with tread wear exceeding the permissible limit.

On the instructions of the head of the department, the head of the Main Directorate of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Viktor Rotchenkov, went to the scene of the incident.

In connection with the incident, law enforcement officials remind: it is prohibited to operate vehicles that are not prepared for participation in road traffic.

In winter, drivers should be extremely attentive and careful, choosing their speed taking into account the current traffic situation and weather conditions.

The ministry also drew attention to the fact that all citizens in the vehicle must wear seat belts.
