In Rechitsa, a MAZ truck drove into the Dnieper River due to icy conditions.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Gomel regional organization of the Belarusian Republican Society for Water Rescue.
What happened
The MAZ driver lost control due to ice. As a result, the car rolled onto the embankment, broke through the fence and went down into the Dnieper.
The accident was witnessed by employees of the Rechitsa OSVOD rescue station, who were preparing for training descents nearby.
They quickly provided assistance. The injured driver, born in 1983, was handed over to the ambulance team.
The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate and the Ministry of Emergency Situations were working at the scene of the accident. The circumstances of the incident are being established.
