On the first day of the last month of this autumn, a very serious emergency occurred in Brest.
In the city on the Bug, 179 people were evacuated from the College of Business and Law after a fire broke out in the building.
The press service of the Brest Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on the incident.
It is noted that on the afternoon of November 1, smoke was detected in the specified educational institution by the Molniya automatic fire alarm and emergency notification systems.
It was recorded in the library premises on the attic floor of a three-story building of the Brest branch of the private educational institution “College of Business and Law”, located on Svobody Square.
Before the rescuers arrived, 179 people, 162 of whom were students, were evacuated from the educational institution as a result of the voice alarm system.
The fire in the ceiling light was extinguished by college staff, the department noted.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. The causes and circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated.
