In the Chausy district, two residents of Mogilev were detained for illegal hunting.

A criminal case has been opened against the men.

This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee for the Mogilev Region.

What happened

According to the investigation, on the morning of November 2, two residents of Mogilev, aged 39 and 45, arrived in the village of Zalesye, where one of them has a summer house, to hunt ducks.

On the way to get water from the spring, the friends saw a roe deer. One of the men shot at the animal from the car window.

The Mogilev residents took the roe deer carcass to their dacha, butchered it and went off again to fetch water.

Almost in the same place, another roe deer came out onto their road – they did the same to it, the Investigative Committee reported.

When the men brought the carcass to the dacha, they were detained by employees of the Mogilev Regional Inspectorate for the Protection of Animal and Plant Life who heard the shots.

It was established that the Mogilev residents did not have permission to hunt roe deer. The damage caused to the environment amounted to 9,600 rubles.

A criminal case was opened against the men under Part 4 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (illegal hunting resulting in damage on an especially large scale).
