Unfortunately, in Belarus there have been more frequent cases of fires caused by New Year's garlands.
The most recent incident of this kind was recorded in the Bobruisk region – a garland was the culprit of the fiery disaster that engulfed a school.
Rescuers were informed about the incident one minute before the start of the current day, that is, on Thursday, December 19, at 23:59.
They told us about a burning school in the agro-town of Telushi, the press service of the Mogilev regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
Having received this information, rescuers quickly went to the specified address.
It is known that the fire on the first floor of the school was discovered by a security guard – a plastic window block in one of the classrooms was burning.
The worker informed the director and began to fight the fire himself.
As a result, using two fire extinguishers, the man overcame the fiery element and put out the fire.
The regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that the plastic glass unit in the cabin where the fire occurred was damaged.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Experts believe that the most likely cause of the incident was a short circuit in a New Year's garland.
In this regard, it is worth noting that a garland also caused a fire in the city of Berezino – an apartment there recently burned down.
Once again, the cause is said to be a short circuit in this very New Year's decoration.
At the time of the fire, the owner of the house was there, trying to cope with the flames on her own.
The fire was extinguished by rescuers who quickly arrived at the scene. No one was hurt.
