Belarus experienced a fierce attack of fierce winds on Monday, December 16. In some areas, the wind speed reached 26 meters per second.

Unfortunately, the elements caused a lot of trouble: fallen trees, including Christmas trees, torn off roofs, vegetation falling onto the roadways...

The press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on the consequences of bad weather in the Gomel region.

According to the department, as a result of the violent wind, a New Year tree fell in Kalinkovichi.

In addition, in Kalinkovichi district one tree fell on the roadway. The Ministry of Emergency Situations units were dispatched to cut it down.

But that's not all. The madness of the crazy wind tore off the roofs of 5 agricultural buildings in the Lelchitsy district.

Fortunately, no one was hurt as a result of the natural disaster.

According to weather forecasters, the wind will continue to rage in Belarus today, December 17.

In connection with this, rescuers gave recommendations to residents of the country on how to behave in such bad weather.

First of all, you should avoid trees and various “high-risk” structures (bridges, overpasses, pipelines, power lines, industrial facilities).

If you are caught outside by a strong wind, try to avoid shaky buildings and houses with unstable roofs.

Remove household items from the yard and balconies into the house (basement) in advance, trim dry trees that could damage your home.

Drive the car into a garage; if there is none, park the car away from trees and weakly reinforced structures.
