On Wednesday, December 25, an explosion occurred in one of the shopping centers in Vladikavkaz.
As a result of the incident, a woman was reportedly killed.
The TASS agency reported this with reference to local emergency services.
In particular, the publication’s source said that “at least one person died.”
These data were clarified by the head of the North Ossetian administration, Sergei Menyailo.
The head of the republic stated that a woman died, who could have been inside the shopping center at the time of the explosion (according to other sources, outside near the building).
In turn, emergency services noted that there were no visitors in the building when the explosion occurred.
According to their information, employees of the retail facility and passers-by were injured.
The media writes that this is about the shopping center "Alania Mall". Preliminary, experts say that the cause of the emergency was a domestic gas explosion.
The explosion occurred at around half past eight in the morning (the time coincides with Belarusian time).
The fire reportedly started on the top floor of the building and took about two hours to extinguish.
According to Sergei Menyailo, the body of the deceased (she worked as a cleaner) was found outside the building.
