In the Bykhov district of the Mogilev region of Belarus, dogs saved a family.
The incident took place in the village of Sedich early Friday morning, but the reason for the deadly threat appeared the previous evening.
As reported by the press service of the Mogilev Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, on November 27 at about seven in the evening, a 60-year-old villager cleaned the heating boiler.
Then the man took the coals and ashes in a bucket outside, leaving them near the barn.
The family fell asleep around midnight, but at four in the morning on November 28 they were awakened by the loud, persistent barking of three dogs in the house.
The hostess went into the kitchen and saw a “fiery glow” in the window – the barn adjacent to the house was burning.
The head of the family rushed to drive the car out of the yard, and the woman dialed 101, the press service noted.
When rescuers arrived at the scene of the incident, the roof was already ablaze. They prevented the fire from destroying the family's home.
However, by that time the barn was almost completely destroyed: in addition to the burnt roof, the ceiling, walls and things inside were seriously damaged.
Based on preliminary data, experts believe that the cause of the fire was unquenched coals left near the barn.
