Dichlorvos may have been the cause of the poisoning of a family in the Krasnoyarsk region, which resulted in the death of four children (their parents are still in the hospital).

At least, this version is currently the main one, as reported by the regional prosecutor's office on its Telegram channel.

An aerosol insect repellent is the primary version of the poisoning of the family from the Nazarovsky district, the department noted.

Home treatment

It is specified: during the examinations carried out, “a direct suspicion arose that the family had been poisoned” with dichlorvos.

The room in the house where the family lived was treated with this product the day before.

The regional supervisory authority added that experts from Moscow have also been brought in to conduct the study to establish the exact cause of the poisoning.

At present, verification activities and investigative actions are ongoing, the regional prosecutor’s office summed up.

In turn, MIA "Russia Today", citing a source in law enforcement agencies, reports that dichlorvos is called "Varan".

According to investigators, the aforementioned dichlorvos was used in the house where the family lived on the day of the tragedy (the children were outside at the time).

Fly Repellent

The regional Investigative Committee reported that no traces of the fly repellent were found in the bodies of two more children who were poisoned and died - a 13-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl.

The examination did not reveal any traces of this substance in the body of one of the deceased girls.

We are talking about a loose substance that was found in the kitchen in a plastic bag.

The regional Investigative Committee also reported that fertilizers, chemicals, dishwasher tablets, food scraps, and veterinary drugs were sent from the family’s home for examination.

Interrogations

The owner and the salesperson of the grocery store where the food (dumplings and chicken) for dinner were bought the day before, after which the parents and children became ill, were questioned.

The paramedic of the Krasnosopkinskaya district hospital and relatives of the family were also questioned.

And the mother of the deceased children (pregnant with her fifth child) said during the first interrogation that she did not add any foreign substances while preparing the food.

By the way, doctors assess the spouses' condition as stable. Four of their children, as reported, unfortunately died.

According to preliminary data, death was caused by the toxic effects of an unidentified substance.
