What happened
A 52-year-old resident of the district was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Ostrovets District Hospital with a diagnosis of “poisoning with an unknown poison.”
Specialists from the State Forensic Expertise Department for the Grodno Region conducted a chemical examination and found that the man was poisoned by the organophosphorus pesticide chlorpyrifos.
According to the parameters of acute toxicity for humans, this substance is considered highly dangerous and can cause death.
Doctors managed to save the man. It turned out that he accidentally drank a remedy for the Colorado potato beetle, poured into a drink bottle.
