A Belarusian visited abroad. Returning, he tried to bring a gold bicycle from Poland into the country.
The incident occurred at the Varshavsky Most checkpoint, which the man wanted to cross via the “green corridor”.
The customs officers noticed one thing he had with him – a disassembled two-wheeled bicycle.
As reported by the press service of the State Committee of Forensic Expertise, the citizen stated that he had previously purchased this vehicle for $250 in Minsk.
According to him, he repaired this bicycle in Poland.
In order to establish the exact value of the vehicle, a commodity examination was ordered.
An expert from the State Forensic Expertise Department for the Brest Region determined the trademark and model of this object.
It turned out that the bicycle was released in a limited edition of only 50 units.
It is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes and electronic shifters.
In addition, it is equipped with parts from leading global manufacturers using carbon, ceramics, and non-ferrous metals.
And his tires are from a Formula 1 tire manufacturer.
The frame and some other elements are covered with gold leaf.
According to the expert's conclusion, the cost of this bicycle, taking into account the kit and the degree of wear, is over 62,000 rubles.
For the fact that a Belarusian does not declare a gold bicycle, he may pay a fine of 10% to 30% of the value of the goods.
