Wanting to protect a loved one from criminal liability, the elderly woman handed over approximately 37,000 BYN in equivalent. The money was taken by the arriving courier.

After some time, the courier's identity was established.

It turned out that this was a 25-year-old resident of Baranovichi. The young man said that he found an offer for criminal earnings on the Internet.

The man said that they were carrying out the first "task".

Investigators have opened a criminal case of fraud. At the moment, law enforcement officers are identifying all participants in the scheme.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded: if you receive a call about a “road accident” and the “guilt” of a relative (or a similar call), you must immediately end the conversation and report the incident to law enforcement agencies.

The department also reminded citizens of the responsibility for participating in criminal schemes as couriers.
