Yesterday evening and this morning, 14 students from one of the city’s educational institutions were hospitalized in Brest.
The minors were admitted to the emergency department of the Brest Regional Clinical Hospital.
The patients of this medical institution were students of grades 9-11 of Lyceum No. 1. They are currently in infectious disease departments.
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus reported this on its Telegram channel.
What caused the hospitalization of students in Brest
As doctors found out, all 14 hospitalized people showed symptoms of acute intestinal infection.
It is emphasized that the norovirus etiology of the disease was laboratory confirmed in all students of the Brest Lyceum who were admitted to the medical institution on Thursday evening and Friday morning.
At the moment, the condition of the young patients is assessed by doctors as follows: “moderate, stable, with positive dynamics.”
It is emphasized that all hospitalized patients receive full treatment.
It is noted that the healthcare institution is provided with all necessary medications and has access to all necessary diagnostic examination methods.
