How a False Priest Lured Gold Out of a Brest Woman
While walking in the evening, a 50-year-old resident of Brest saw a young man in a cassock.
Having decided that he was a priest, the Brest woman approached him to talk about her emotional experiences.
The "priest" listened carefully to the woman and offered to forgive her sins for a donation.
The Brest woman had no money with her, so she gave away her gold jewelry. Having taken the gold, the "priest" gave the woman a wooden rosary and disappeared.
After a short time, the Brest resident realized that she had been deceived and contacted the police.
A 19-year-old resident of the Mogilev region was detained as a suspect. He managed to sell some of the jewelry.
The victim's rosary beads were confiscated for genetic testing. Experts from the State Forensic Examination Department for the Brest Region found biomaterial on them that matched the suspect's samples in terms of genetic characteristics.
A criminal case was opened against the young man under Part 1 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code.
