On Sunday, October 13, there was a strong wind in the Brest region.
According to the Brest weather station, the speed reached 13 meters per second.
These weather conditions led to certain consequences.
This was reported by the Brest Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus.
Consequences of strong winds on October 13
According to data as of Sunday evening, several cases of trees falling on some objects were recorded in Brest.
One of the trees fell onto a two-story residential building.
In one of the districts of the regional center, a tree fell on a passenger car.
There are also known cases of trees falling on the fence of a kindergarten and on the road.
In addition, damage was reported to two vehicles and the roofs of five buildings on the territory of the Rucheyok-1 gardening association near Brest.
It is emphasized that as a result of yesterday's bad weather in the Brest region no one was hurt.
What to do if the wind picks up
The Brest Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations shared the following recommendations:
- when the wind gets stronger, you need to remove objects from the yard and balconies into the house;
- prune dry trees that may damage your home;
- Park the vehicle in a garage or as far away as possible from trees or structures that could collapse;
- A person who is outdoors should not be near unstable buildings, trees, power lines and other objects that pose a potential danger in strong winds.
