"We Came to Grandma's for the Weekend": Three Children Poisoned by Carbon Monoxide in Belarus

On the night of October 5-6, an emergency occurred near Kirovsk: children were poisoned by carbon monoxide.

We are talking about a 7-year-old and a 10-year-old boy, as well as a 9-year-old girl.

The injured children were hospitalized.

It is known that the children came for the weekend to visit their grandmother in the village of Zbyshin.

On the evening of October 5, the family heated the stove.

On the night of October 6, the boys and girl's health worsened.

It was decided to call an ambulance.

Doctors concluded that the children were poisoned by carbon monoxide. The victims were sent to a healthcare facility.

According to the preliminary version, the poisoning was caused by the fact that the chimney damper was closed too early.

As the Ministry of Emergency Situations emphasized, employees of the medical facility reported the hospitalization of minors at 03:24.

It is noted that rescuers were not called in.
