This happened after the situation that developed near Mogilev.
Law enforcement officers stopped the truck. It turned out that the cargo was being transported illegally.
The passenger of the vehicle tried to "resolve the issue." But instead, he became a defendant in a criminal case.
Details of the incident in the Mogilev region
On Friday, October 4, the following information was published on the official website of the Mogilev Executive Committee Department of Internal Affairs: at approximately 20:40, not far from the settlement of Pavlovka, State Traffic Inspectorate officers stopped a MAZ truck.
The vehicle was driven by a 35-year-old resident of the city of Gorki.
It turned out that he was illegally transporting ferrous scrap metal.
In addition to the driver, there was a 44-year-old passenger in the car.
It was this man who tried to “resolve the issue.”
The citizen offered the law enforcement officers 1,000 Belarusian rubles, saying the following: “500 for you and 500 for him.”
Law enforcement officers warned the man about criminal liability for giving a bribe.
However, the truck passenger decided to ignore the inspectors' words and leave the bills in the glove compartment of the official vehicle.
An investigative task force arrived at the scene of the incident.
