A fatal road accident occurred on Thursday, October 3, in the Malorita district of the Brest region.
There, a passenger car flew off the road and crashed into a tree. A 20-year-old passenger died.
The press service of the Brest Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate reported on the road tragedy on its official Telegram channel.
According to the data released by the department, the accident took place at approximately half past four in the evening.
At the specified time, a Lada driven by a 26-year-old driver was driving along the H746 Chernyany-Doropeyevichi-Pavlopol-Zaorie highway.
According to preliminary information, at the 3rd kilometer of the highway, the young man lost control of the car, drove into a ditch, where he crashed into a tree.
Unfortunately, as a result of the accident, a 20-year-old passenger of the car died at the scene from his injuries. The driver was taken to the hospital.
The investigation will provide a legal assessment of what happened, the press service noted.
And they added: it was established that both guys were not wearing seat belts.
