The citizen accused of attempting to assassinate the writer Zakhar Prilepin was sentenced to a very severe punishment.
The verdict was handed down by the 2nd Western District Military Court: life imprisonment.
According to the verdict, Alexander Permyakov will serve the first five years of his sentence in prison.
The Ukrainian citizen will spend the rest of his sentence in a special regime penal colony, writes the portal “TUT NOVOSTI”.
It is noted that Permyakov was also fined 700,000 rubles.
It is also known that the court terminated the criminal prosecution of this citizen under articles on arms trafficking and the manufacture of explosive devices after his repentance.
In April last year, the accused reportedly used mines given to him to make explosive devices after following the writer.
He made them in the area of the village of Pionersky in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Then he placed them under the roadbed near Prilepin's house.
On the morning of May 6, the car in which the writer and his driver were located exploded. The latter died on the spot.
Prilepin was hospitalized with multiple wounds. The attacker was soon arrested.
At one of the court hearings, Permyakov said that the SBU promised him $20,000 for the murder of the writer.
He also said that if he had seen a second person in the car, he would not have blown it up.
Let us add that the man is charged under the articles “Terrorism” and “Forgery of documents”.
