It recently became known that last night, September 5, unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed in the skies over the territory of Belarus.
This statement was made by the Chief of the General Staff – First Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces, Colonel Sergei Frolov.
His message was published on the official Telegram channel of the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.
A high-ranking military officer noted the fact of a violation of the state border of Belarus, which took place on the night of September 5.
According to his information, the violation occurred in airspace – “presumably by unmanned aerial vehicles.”
A decision was made to destroy them, Frolov noted.
He reported that thanks to the timely measures taken by the air defense forces on duty, “all intruder targets were destroyed.”
An investigation into the incident is currently underway, the Chief of the General Staff summed up.
