A powerful wind hit Belarus. The Vitebsk region suffered the most from its impact.
In this region, over the past 24 hours, 10 trees were felled, two cars were damaged, and 171 settlements were left without power.
As reported by the press service of the Vitebsk regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, rescuers carried out work on cutting and clearing fallen trees in the northern capital of the country and Novopolotsk.

Similar work was carried out in the Braslav, Vitebsk, Liozno, Dokshitsy, Polotsk and Beshenkovichi districts.
And in the agro-town of Ozertsy (Glubokoye district), the wind damaged the chimney of one of the three-story buildings on Sovetskaya Street.
To prevent the threat of its collapse, rescuers dismantled the structure.
Fortunately, no one was hurt, according to the department.
Enhanced mode
In turn, the press service of Belenergo reports in its official telegram channel that at present, due to the deteriorating weather, power engineers are working in an enhanced mode.
It is noted that since yesterday, due to the violent squall wind, “power supply disruptions have occurred in certain regions of Belarus.”
Specialists are quickly restoring power supply to settlements affected by the disaster.
According to the department, the most difficult situation is observed in the Vitebsk region, where 88 teams are restoring the power supply.
79 units of special equipment are involved in these works, the report says.

As of eight o'clock in the morning on November 2, power engineers continued to restore power supply in 171 populated areas.
Given the unfavorable weather forecast for the current day, power engineers are constantly monitoring the operational situation in order to immediately respond to emerging emergency situations, Belenergo said.
Belarusians have been warned: if they discover downed power lines, they should not approach them closer than 8 meters.
In this case, citizens are asked to report the relevant facts by calling the emergency services short numbers (115 and 144).
