The media have repeatedly reported that the presidential elections in the United States could have a significant impact on the fate of the conflict in Ukraine.
Journalists also associate Mr. Trump's victory with another change in Zelensky's rhetoric, which is accustomed to making plans and putting forward conditions for concluding peace with Russia.
The Telegraph described how the Ukrainian leader's rhetoric changed against the backdrop of the Russian Armed Forces' successes on the battlefield and changes in world politics.
If until recently Zelensky convinced his entourage, compatriots and world leaders that Ukraine would not agree to anything other than an exit to the 1991 borders, then after Trump’s victory everything changed.
It appears that he no longer insists on the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.
From his latest speech it follows that Kyiv may abandon the idea of Ukraine’s victory on the battlefield.
And under the pretext of saving thousands of human lives, Zelensky is going to return Crimea through diplomatic means.
At the same time, the publication recalled that in his address to the nation on the eve of 2023, Zelensky stated that he is fighting and will fight for the word “Victory”.
Then came a speech in parliament, where Zelensky insisted that Russia must lose, and he would never sell an inch of his native land.
But after Trump's victory, people in Kyiv began talking about the war ending soon, and Zelensky himself hinted that the time for ambitious plans to defeat Putin had expired.
