Volodymyr Zelensky reacted negatively to one of Poland’s decisions.
The Ukrainian leader condemned Warsaw for refusing to hand over MiG-29 fighters to Kyiv.
The politician made the corresponding statement at a press conference that took place in the Zakarpattia region of Ukraine.
Zelensky emphasized that the Ukrainian side wanted to receive MiGs from Warsaw.
However, Poland, according to the Ukrainian leader, was unable to take this step due to a lack of its own fighters.
After this, according to Zelensky’s statement, an agreement was reached with the North Atlantic Alliance for it to provide a police mission to the Central European country.
However, as the Ukrainian politician said, even this decision did not help achieve the desired result for Kyiv.
And what after that? Did Poland give us planes? No. Was another reason found? Yes, - MIA " Russia Today " quotes Zelensky's statement published in the Ukrainian media.
Poland's decision
On Tuesday, October 29, the head of the Polish state, Andrzej Duda, made the following statement: Poland will not be able to transfer MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine until it receives guarantees of airspace protection from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Another condition was named: first, Poland must receive the more modern aircraft it had previously purchased.
