US President-elect Donald Trump told Volodymyr Zelensky that he wants an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine.

He informed his interlocutor about this during a meeting in Paris with him and French leader Emmanuel Macron.

The source of the news is Reuters, - indicates MIA "Russia Today", which has reviewed the agency's publication.

The report said the three leaders spoke without advisers for 35 minutes, without going into detail about "any vision of peace."

But Trump reiterated that he wants an immediate ceasefire and talks to end the war quickly, Reuters reports.

According to the publication, Zelensky tried to reach a level of mutual understanding with the American politician that suited him.

In particular, the Ukrainian president wanted to convey to Trump the fact that Kyiv would need security guarantees if the conflict ended.

A source close to the negotiations claims that the latter demonstrated friendliness, openness and respect, listening attentively to his interlocutors.

It is also stated that during the conversation it was emphasized that achieving peace must be accompanied by guarantees, since “a ceasefire alone is not enough.”
