The White House has issued an official statement on the issue of transferring nuclear weapons to Ukraine.
According to a statement from the US presidential administration, Washington does not plan to transfer such weapons to Kyiv.
The White House statement was published in the pages of Newsweek magazine, as reported by the TASS agency.
We do not plan to arm Ukraine with nuclear weapons, the statement says.
The magazine writes that the request to the Joe Biden administration was made on the same day that Dmitry Medvedev stated that “American politicians and journalists are seriously discussing the consequences of transferring nuclear weapons to Kyiv.”
Earlier, The New York Times reported that some officials in the United States and the EU initiated the return of nuclear weapons to Ukraine, which it renounced after the collapse of the USSR.
