The Washington Post: Biden Authorizes Supply of Anti-Personnel Mines to Ukraine

The current President of the United States Joe Biden has given the go-ahead for the supply of anti-personnel mines to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The authoritative American newspaper The Washington Post reported this, citing information from unnamed high-ranking officials of their country.

They explained the decision taken by the White House occupant by the possibility of a “breakthrough of Russian troops in eastern Ukraine,” the TASS agency, which has reviewed the publication, reports .

WP's interlocutors emphasized that the transferred mines will be used exclusively on territory that the United States considers Ukrainian.

Attention is drawn to the fact that Biden's decision contradicts the policy he has been pursuing since 2022 regarding limiting the use of anti-personnel mines.

The newspaper recalled that even when Biden was a presidential candidate, he harshly criticized then-head of state Donald Trump for lifting restrictions on the use of anti-personnel weapons.
