In China's Hunan province, an SUV crashed into a crowd of schoolchildren at high speed.
The incident occurred near one of the educational institutions at a time when there were many people near it.
As reported by MIA "Russia Today" with reference to China Central Television, a considerable number of schoolchildren were injured as a result of the incident.
It is known that the emergency occurred on Tuesday morning (local time), November 19, near the entrance to Yun'an Elementary School in the city of Changde.
The exact number of victims is currently being determined.
According to Xinhua, the driver of the car was detained by the students' parents and school security guards.
The motives for the SUV driver's actions remain unclear.
According to local media, several victims were taken to hospital. There are no reports of fatalities yet.
