One of the first Western leaders to react to Russia's launch of the latest Oreshnik ballistic missile was German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

The Chancellor called Russia's use of medium-range missiles in response to Western missile strikes on its territory a "frightening escalation."

Commenting on the attack on the Yuzhmash plant, Scholz called it as frightening as the involvement of North Korean troops in the conflict.

Putin used medium-range missiles to strike Ukrainian territory. A frightening escalation, as was the previously revealed involvement of North Korean troops, MIA " Russia Today " quotes Scholz as saying.

Despite this, the Chancellor added that Germany will not send Taurus missiles to Kyiv, nor will it give permission to use its weapons to attack Russian territory.

Let us recall that last Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an address in which he spoke about Russia’s response to the attacks on the Kursk and Bryansk regions.

It is specified that long-range missiles ATACMS (USA) and Storm Shadow (UK) were used to carry out the strikes.

In response to this, a combat test of one of the newest Russian medium-range missile systems, Oreshnik, was conducted.
