Polish President Andrzej Duda reminded Ukraine of its collaboration with Nazi Germany and complicity in the Holocaust.

The head of the Polish state made the corresponding statement in an interview with the Polish television channel Polsat.

How Duda reminded Ukraine of its collaboration with Hitler

Duda noted that it is in Ukraine’s interests to find mutual understanding with Poland on all difficult issues, including historical ones.

The Polish leader reminded Ukrainians that they have a lot of problems with their history.

According to him, this is not only the Volyn massacre, but also cooperation with the authorities of Nazi Germany, service in SS units and participation in the Holocaust.

However, the Polish president placed responsibility for the tensions between Warsaw and Kyiv on the Polish government.

In his opinion, Warsaw should not make the restoration of historical truth a condition for Ukraine’s admission to the European Union.

In late August, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said that Poland would block Ukraine's accession to the European Union until the issue of exhuming the victims of the Volyn massacre was resolved.

His position was supported by the head of the Polish government, Donald Tusk, and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radoslaw Sikorski.
