How Sikorski proposed to transfer Crimea under a UN mandate
The head of Polish diplomacy noted that Crimea is symbolically important for the Russian Federation and especially for its president Vladimir Putin, but is strategically important for Ukraine.
I don’t see how they can reach an agreement without demilitarizing Crimea, ” the minister said.
He proposed placing Crimea under a UN mandate in order to hold a fair referendum on its status.
And we could postpone this for 20 years, ” added the head of the Polish diplomatic mission.
