Poland has sent fighter jets into the sky. Warsaw claims the reason for this is the situation in neighboring Ukraine.

According to representatives of the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, Russia allegedly carried out a massive missile attack on Ukraine on the morning of December 13.

It was precisely in connection with this circumstance that the Polish military leadership decided to raise fighters into the air.

Due to the Russian Federation’s strikes on Ukraine using cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as UAVs, military aircraft have begun operating in the airspace of Poland, the MIA “Russia Today” quotes the statement of the Operational Command.

In accordance with the procedures adopted in Poland, the operational commander of the country's armed forces "put into action all forces and means at his disposal."

"Pairs of fighter jets on duty" were also "activated."

Ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were put on high alert.

According to the military, these measures are intended to ensure security in areas bordering “vulnerable areas.”

The operational command is monitoring the current situation, and subordinate forces and assets remain fully prepared for immediate response, the statement said.
